Filser LX160Si variometer connected to
Volkslogger and Winpilot Pro
Pro connection box
Pro kit is specially made to connect the Winpilot compatible
variometer to PDA-logger-Winpilot Pro combination.
Winpilot Pro software works as Adv but is prepared to get following
additional data from the variometer
- vario data
- airspeed EAS
- ballast data
- bug data
- MC-data
In addition the position, altitude and airspeed (TAS) are coming
with the NMEA data from the logger as normal.
With this data is the software capable to calculate and show all
needed to make Winpilot Pro to perfect gliding computer. As good
as the old and wellknown
Peschges, Zander and Filser flight computers, but with much
cheaper.
The clear advantage is the way you can show things in the large
graphic PDA display compared to normally rather limited displays
used in the flight computers.
The variometer must be compatible with Winpilot to add previous data to the the NMEA GPS sentences sent by the logger through the variometer. The
variometer output must be fast and well compensated.
Both LX160Si and B50 has proven to be as good as the old famous
ones. The modern microchips and pressure sensor technics has made this possible.
The red button shown in demo unit is to start the PC connection of the Logger. The dataflow control switch
ontop overrides the variometer when declaring the task from Winpilot to logger.
(Volkslogger or Colibri).
Pro connection kit include "plug and play" cables to connect
PDA, Logger and Variometer. The connection box is powering both
PDA and the logger through these cables.
